Use case / Ethical security research

MAKE THE RESEARCH CONTEXT LEGIBLE.

Bring the information from an authorized research exercise into a Network another reader can understand. Keep each connection tied to what the supplied sources establish.

Ethical security researchers and OSINT practitioners

Fictional, non-sensitive training material. No real target or vulnerability is represented.

Who operates this account?

A domain, an account and a provider can appear close together in an inventory without belonging to the same operator. The fictional lab case asks which relationships are supported and which are only suggested.

Start with material you have already collected

Use manual records or CSV entity mapping to organize a supplied asset list. Add the source notes and relationships deliberately. Lage Bureau does not scan infrastructure, retrieve live DNS, enumerate assets or discover vulnerabilities.

Let a clue remain a clue

Use a relationship type that expresses the assertion, an analyst confidence that reflects your assessment and citations showing support, dispute or context. A shared service detail is not, by itself, proof of a common operator.

Show why the interpretation changed

In the lab case, @northline-community links to the lab documentation. The correction says the account is independent and not operated by the lab. Inspect the earlier inference and later notice, then explain what remains unknown.

The research lab's public footprint

Explore invented company, domain, account and document records in an explicitly fictional training environment.
